Massage Modalities

Relaxation

Relaxation massage is a therapeutic blend of stress relieving and relaxation inducing techniques. While not a direct massage modality, relaxation massage describes a quality and approach that can utilize a blended flow of techniques from Swedish massage, deep-tissue pressure, myofascial release, and gentle stretching to decrease muscle and joint tension and pain while increasing relaxation.

Deep-Tissue

Our licensed therapists specialize in deep-tissue treatments aimed at addressing chronic tension. Using advanced techniques, we focus on helping improve muscle function and supporting long-lasting relief and recovery. Deep-tissue massage is often incorporated into relaxation massage, trigger point release, sports massage, and injury treatment.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle yet effective technique targeting the fascia—connective tissue that surrounds muscles, tendons, and bones. This therapy is ideal for enhancing relaxation and supporting recovery from injuries. Many of our therapists integrate myofascial release into their massage sessions to complement other techniques and modalities.

Trigger Point Therapy

Not ever massage needs trigger point therapy, but when it does, having a trained professional that knows how to release trigger points is essential! Trigger points are areas of muscle tightness that can refer pain to other parts of the body. Our therapists use precise techniques to address these points, which may help reduce pain, enhance mobility, and support muscle recovery.

Sports

Sports massage targets athletic performance, mobility, and recovery. Our therapists used specialized deep-tissue and stretching techniques integrated with other modalities to reduce muscle tension, prevent and treat sports injuries, and improve flexibility, range of motion (ROM) and tissue mobility.

Prenatal & Postnatal

Our specialized prenatal massage and postnatal massage sooths and supports mothers at every stage through their pregnancy and after birth. This therapeutic treatment helps alleviates back pain, sciatica, joint discomfort, and swelling (especially in the feet and legs), while relieving neck and shoulder tension (especially when caused by nursing and sleeping positions).

Swedish

Traditional Swedish massage is at the core of many of our massage sessions. The long, fluid strokes of Swedish massage help improve circulation and reduces stress, while the gentle but firm kneading helps soothe tight muscles and calm your nervous system.

Injury Treatment

Our Seattle-based wellness clinic offers clinical-grade injury treatment for auto accidents, work injuries, and soft tissue injuries. We use medical-focused massage therapy to effectively reduce pain, decrease inflammation, and improve join mobility. Our therapists are specifically trained to treat whiplash, neck and back pain, disk injuries, and a broad range of other accident-related conditions and our admin staff excels at coordinating care with attorney's offices and auto insurance companies.

Why receive massage?

While we all know that relaxing and de-stressing feel good, and are generally good for us. There are many physiological benefits of receiving relaxation massage that are often not talked about – like reducing stress hormones and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system (the opposite of the stressed, sympathetic nervous system). Quite literally the difference between your body being in “rest & digest” mode vs “flight or flight” mode.

Whether you’re recovering from a major injury or surgery, or just looking for an extra edge in recovering from your normal workouts – therapeutic massage is a fantastic way to support your recovery goals while feeling great and improving your overall muscle health and condition. Some studies found massage to reduce the effects of delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS – the soreness you feel after a solid workout) by between 13-30%!

When it comes to your physical strength and athletic performance, it’s understood that the healthier and more mobile your muscles and joints are, the higher capacity for peak performance your body has. This is why you often see massage therapists working on Olympic and professional athletes during competition events. Maintaining your peak performance by incorporating monthly massages is a fantastic way to take your fitness and wellness routine to the next level!
